How to do Step-up with Knee Raise

Step-by-step

  1. Stand in front of a sturdy box or bench
  2. Place one foot on the box and drive through that heel to step up
  3. As you rise, pull your trailing knee up toward your chest
  4. Balance on one foot for a second
  5. Step down under control; finish the reps, then switch legs

Coaching tip

The knee raise at the top adds balance work and glute medius; pause for a second up there.
