How to do Step-Up

Step-by-step

  1. Place a sturdy box or bench about knee height in front of you.
  2. Set one foot fully on top of the box.
  3. Drive through the front heel to lift your body up onto the box.
  4. Stand tall at the top, then step back down under control with the same leg.
  5. Switch sides after the prescribed number of reps.

Coaching tip

Plant your whole foot on the box, don't push off with the lower leg, and drive up with the top leg.
