How to do Standing Long Jump

Step-by-step

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent
  2. Swing your arms back as you push your hips back
  3. Hurl your arms forward and jump explosively forward and up
  4. Pull your knees forward in the air
  5. Land on both feet with bent knees, soft and balanced

Coaching tip

Swing your arms back then hurl them forward as you jump; half the distance comes from the arm swing.
