How to do Spider Curl

Step-by-step

  1. Lie chest-down against the face of an incline bench with your arms hanging freely.
  2. Grip the dumbbells with your palms facing forward.
  3. Keeping your upper arms fixed, curl the weights up toward your shoulders.
  4. Squeeze your biceps as hard as possible at the top of the movement.
  5. Lower the weights slowly and under control, fully extending your arms.

Coaching tip

Rest your chest against the incline bench and let your arms hang straight down; squeeze the biceps at the top.
