Step-by-step
- Set the bench to roughly a 45-60 degree incline and sit back against it.
- Let your arms hang straight down with gravity, palms facing forward.
- Keeping your elbows fixed behind you, curl the dumbbells up toward your shoulders.
- Squeeze your biceps at the top and pause briefly.
- Lower the dumbbells slowly until your arms are fully extended.
Coaching tip
Rest your back against the bench; keeping your arms behind you stretches the long head of the biceps, so use a full range of motion.
