Step-by-step

  1. Grip the Smith bar at thigh height and unrack it
  2. Keep a very slight bend in your knees and lock your back flat
  3. Push your hips back and slide the bar down close to your legs
  4. Stop when you feel a strong stretch in your hamstrings
  5. Drive your hips forward and squeeze your glutes to stand

Coaching tip

With the fixed bar path, put all your attention on the hip hinge and the hamstring stretch.
