How to do Resistance Band Chest Press

Step-by-step

  1. Run the band across the middle of your back, at shoulder-blade level, and grip an end in each hand.
  2. Set your feet shoulder-width apart, bend your knees slightly, and keep your torso upright.
  3. Get into the starting position with your hands at chest level and your elbows pointing down toward the floor.
  4. Against the band's resistance, press your arms forward to full extension while squeezing your chest muscles.
  5. Return to the starting position under control, keeping tension on the band.

Coaching tip

Loop the band behind your back and press your hands forward under control.
