How to do Incline Dumbbell Press

Step-by-step

  1. Set the bench to a 30-45 degree incline and sit down with the dumbbells resting on your thighs
  2. As you lie back, use your knees to help lift the dumbbells and get into the lying position
  3. Pinch your shoulder blades together and hold the dumbbells at upper-chest level
  4. Press the dumbbells up under control and bring them slightly toward each other at the top
  5. Lower them slowly until you feel a stretch in your upper chest

Coaching tip

Target your upper chest and keep your elbows at 45 degrees.
