Step-by-step

  1. Grip the kettlebell with one hand and stand slightly wider than shoulder width
  2. Push your hips back and swing the bell back between your legs
  3. Drive your hips forward explosively to float the bell to chest height
  4. Keep your shoulders square and torso stable
  5. Absorb the bell's descent with a hip hinge; finish the reps, then switch hands

Coaching tip

The single-arm load tries to rotate your torso; resist that rotation by keeping your shoulders square.

Caution

Skip this move or ask a professional first if you have pain or an injury in: lower back, shoulder. FitCi filters it out of your program automatically based on the injuries in your profile.
