How to do Flat Bench Cable Flyes

Step-by-step

  1. Place a flat bench in the middle of a dual cable station and grab the handles from the low pulleys
  2. Lie on your back with your arms open to the sides and elbows slightly bent
  3. Squeeze your chest to bring the handles together in a wide arc above your chest
  4. Hold the squeeze at the top for one second
  5. Open your arms out to the sides under control until you feel a stretch

Coaching tip

Unlike dumbbells, cables keep tension at the bottom; don't rush through the stretch position.
