How to do Dumbbell Squat

Step-by-step

  1. Hold dumbbells at your sides with palms facing your body
  2. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and toes slightly turned out
  3. Squat down by sitting your hips back and down
  4. Descend until your thighs are parallel, keeping your chest up
  5. Drive through your heels back to the start

Coaching tip

With dumbbells hanging at your sides, your torso stays naturally upright; an ideal way to learn the squat.
