How to do Zottman Curl

Step-by-step

  1. Stand tall and hold the dumbbells at your sides with your palms facing forward.
  2. Keeping your upper arms fixed, curl the weights up like a normal curl.
  3. At the top, rotate your wrists so your palms face down/forward.
  4. Lower the weights slowly and under control with this reverse grip.
  5. At the bottom, rotate your wrists back to return to the starting grip.

Coaching tip

Curl up with palms facing up, rotate your wrists at the top, and lower with a reverse grip.
