How to do Dumbbell Front Raise

Step-by-step

  1. Stand tall, holding the dumbbells in front of your thighs with your palms facing your body.
  2. Brace your core and keep your shoulders down and steady.
  3. Raise one or both dumbbells forward up to shoulder height with your elbows slightly bent.
  4. Pause briefly at the top with your arms parallel to the floor.
  5. Slowly lower the dumbbells back to the starting position under control.

Coaching tip

Raise the dumbbell straight up to shoulder height and don't cheat by leaning your torso back.
