Step-by-step

  1. Stand tall and grip the bar or dumbbells with an overhand grip (palms facing your body) at shoulder width.
  2. Pin your elbows to your sides and keep your shoulders back.
  3. Keeping your wrists straight, curl the weight up by bending at the elbows.
  4. At the top, squeeze your forearms and biceps.
  5. Lower back to the starting position slowly and under control.

Coaching tip

Keep your wrists locked in a pronated (palms-down) position and initiate the movement with the brachioradialis.

Caution

Skip this move or ask a professional first if you have pain or an injury in: wrist, elbow. FitCi filters it out of your program automatically based on the injuries in your profile.
