How to do Kettlebell Overhead Press

Step-by-step

  1. Bring the kettlebell to shoulder level; the bell should rest on the outside of your forearm with your wrist straight.
  2. Set your feet shoulder-width apart, brace your core and glutes, and stand tall.
  3. Press the kettlebell straight up overhead until your arm is fully extended.
  4. At the top, the kettlebell should be in line with your shoulder and hips; don't shrug your shoulder toward your ear.
  5. Lower the weight back to shoulder level under control and repeat.

Coaching tip

Rest the kettlebell against the back of your forearm, keep your wrist neutral, and press straight up.
