How to do Dumbbell Scaption

Step-by-step

  1. Hold the dumbbells in front of you with palms facing each other
  2. Raise your arms with a slight elbow bend, 30-45 degrees out from your torso
  3. Keep your thumbs pointing up
  4. Pause for one second at shoulder height
  5. Lower back to the start under control

Coaching tip

Raise your arms 30-45 degrees from your torso (a Y shape); this is the safest raising path for the shoulder.
