How to do Cat Stretch

Step-by-step

  1. Get on all fours with hands under shoulders and knees under hips
  2. Exhale and round your back toward the ceiling, tucking your chin to your chest (cat)
  3. Hold for one to two seconds
  4. Inhale and drop your belly toward the floor, opening your chest and head upward (camel)
  5. Flow slowly between the two poses for 8-10 reps

Coaching tip

Spread the motion through every segment of the spine; the whole back should ripple, not just the lower part.
