Step-by-step

  1. Place two dumbbells on the floor and get into a push-up position with your hands on the dumbbells and your body in a straight line from head to heels.
  2. Brace your abs and glutes to keep your torso stable, and position your feet slightly wider than shoulder width.
  3. Row one dumbbell toward your ribs, keeping your elbow close to your body; do not let your hips rotate to the side.
  4. Lower the dumbbell to the floor under control, then perform the same row with the other arm.
  5. Repeat the movement alternately, maintaining balance between arms.

Coaching tip

Keep your hips still in the plank position and row the dumbbell without swaying.
