How to do Leg Press Calf Raise

Step-by-step

  1. Sit at the leg press machine and place the balls of your feet on the lower edge of the platform with your heels hanging off.
  2. Keep your legs slightly bent, don't fully lock your knees, and release the safety catches.
  3. Push the platform forward with the balls of your feet by extending your ankles.
  4. Squeeze your calves at the top and pause for a moment.
  5. Let the platform return under control, feeling the stretch in your calves, and repeat.

Coaching tip

Place only the balls of your feet on the platform and don't lock your knees; drive entirely from the calves.
